Joined after watching Bernstein's "Mass" which I
thought was Jaw dropping. The Chorus was simply
amazing and I wanted to be a part of it. That was
1973. The farthest we had been out of Manila was the
Visayas. Then we got a recommendation from Prof
Andrea Veneracion whose UP Madrigals had made a big
splash in the 2nd Lincoln Center Int'l Choral Festival
and successfully passed an audition. We were going to
the USA, which was beyond our wildest dreams. We
toured the whole US for a month the summer of 1974. I
then had to rush home to enter the College of
Medicine. What a bunch of memories.
